Oh the Shame of No Pants

Today was just a really strange day at the daycare. Can I just tell you how funny it is to see kids react to situations in their own way? I mean of course I've seen many personalities among nieces and nephews, but it's weird seeing other kids now. Well I thought all of my pants- loving- brothers would appreciate this post.
There is this adorable kid named Layden who has a huge head, cute button face, and a smile that makes you giggle( think waffle dawg mischeivious grins...all the time). He is one of the few kids in my group that is not potty trained. So when he got his diaper changed today, apparently his pants got messy too. Usually the parents leave some extra clothes at the daycare, but not today, not Layden. Well he comes back to my classroom in a shirt, diaper, and tennis shoes. It is time to go outside and the kids are all lining up. Except Layden. He was upset when he came back from the diaper change, but now he freaked out and started crying!! He cried "Don't wanna go owtside!! Want pants!!" I tried to comfort him and tell him it was ok, and even volunteered to hold him. But nothing would take away his shame of no pants. He kept crying "Pants!...No owtside!! Pants!!" It was so sad!! Then I finally picked him up anyways and took him outside and he would not let me put him down. This way, I was sort of hiding his no-pants state a little better and I stood in the corner of the playground as to not draw attention to his embarrassment. He truly did not like having no pants. After a while, I was able to put him down and he just had to hold my hand. Then i tried to be distracted and busy so he would just go off and play, which eventually he did, by limiting himself to his older brother over on the slide. :)

Also, on the other side of he fence, on the older kids playground, we had more undoing of pants. Apparently this girl Sam told this boy Alex to pee on the fence. So he did. On the fence between someone's house and the daycare. You could see the wet marks. The person that was in charge of them of course punished him and talked to him, and mentioned that he especially did not need to do that in front of the girls. Lets just say his parents were going to get spoken too later.

Two different cases of shame and no shame.

March Madness?

Well I may not be picking basketball teams brackets, but I have had other things going on for me this month that I felt I should share.

*I now work at the whitedove daycare in danbury. There are some really crazy cute kids and then there are some really bad annoying kids. But its really not that bad. I get there about nap time. I watch them sleep and when they wake up I give them snack. Then they play in centers for a little while. Then I get to take them outside for about 2 hours. Then we come in and they have to sit and watch a movie while I clean, and their parents come pick them up within that hour. And the cleaning just involves disinfecting the tables, putting the chairs up, sweeping and mopping, and taking the trash out of that one classroom. Then I get to leave if all the kids are gone. And their parents have to be there no later than 6 or else they pay for every minute they are late. So that means I get home nicely in time for dinner :). And who doesnt love earning money? Now I can get my hair all done and buy my own clothes. Also I will start saving for prom that is coming up, and for college.
*Speaking of prom, I have date. I am going with my friend cody, and we are going with my other friends bobby, kenzie, trey, and victoria. It should be fun cause we are all band nerds that are crazy. Here's what happened one day in english class (we were in the computer lab not doing much). Mandy, Ashleigh, Cody, and myself were sitting in the same row and discussing prom and how we were not ready for it. Cody said "Yeah I don't even have a date." Which none of the four of us did, so I commented "Yeah neither do I." He said "We should go together!" and i said "Ok Yeah we should!" and he said "Wait, seriously?!" and I said "Yeah sure!" and he said "Ok, me and Laurel are going to prom together." and it was done. Ashleigh freaked out and thought that was the cutest thing and started crying...whatever. I told her that was how you got a date for prom. So prom is May 2 and I need to start saving for a dress, and this year I will go all out with getting my nails, hair, makeup done, etc. somewhere since Becky will not be here this year. And I figured it would be a fun experience maybe trying it this way too...we'll see! Oh and prom is at Jo's Bar-b-q banquet hall. Anyone ever been in there? It's in alvin.
*Also, UIL academic meet was on friday and i had to wait to find out results for my events this weekend. They had to send off all the journalism events to get graded somewhere else. Finally I got a text today saying I got fourth in headline writing, and I got FIRST in feature writing!!! A gold medal and I advance to regionals!!! This is the first time I placed at UIL in high school and the first year I tried these events. If I would have known I could do that well, I would have done journalism events a long time ago. So you can see my excitement, because this was a big surprise for me. :) I feel like a smart person again and not so much of a lazy senior. Ok, I'm still a lazy senior.
*My theatre performance is this week. It's called "Flowers for Algernon". I have a big part and it's a really good play. Community performance is this thursday at 7:00 p.m and see me for tickets($5 each). That will be in the cafeteria. My competition is this Saturday in Industrial, who has an awesome stage setup. We are the first town in our district to go. We then get to watch all the other schools go, including the last group, Hitchcock, who is also doing "Flowers for Algernon". Should be interesting. A lot of free shows to watch, including Hunchback of Notre Dame, Much Ado About Nothing, Mikado(a chinese play),etc. if anyone is interested in going to that. I will get more information on it this week.
*Cheerleading tryouts are this week. Sadly, of course I am not trying out. However, the seniors are teaching the middle school tryout dance, and we get to sit and watch the high school tryouts friday morning. So I will be busy with that this week.

Well hope that filled everyone in. If you want any daycare stories, that will have to wait for another blog, or just ask, cause there are some good ones. :)

Ceiling Fan Cat

I introduced mom and dad to cat videos on youtube this morning and we found some really funny ones. This one among them. Cruel, probably fake, but oh so funny.

I will hopefully have a part 2 to this with kandy. She does a really funny thing when you scratch a certain part of her back...

Just give me some place to live!!

I sat at the computer for an hour and a half saturday morning to sign up for BYU housing!! It was crazy!! Christy and i both got on about 8:00 provo time. We got a place in line (everyone else got on as soon as it opened up also) and the page refreshed every 20 seconds, to move you ahead further in line. Christy got on slightly before me, and after much anguish of refreshing pages and going back due to endless errors she got her place, after she finally got to fill out the application, at 8:14 a.m. But mine was not until 9:20 a.m! So we have both filled out an application and requested each other. We are waiting on an email that lets us know to pick our room. Christy will get it first cause her place in line was closer, and she will have to reserve my bed so i can accept it when i get my email...or something like that. We are trying to get into heritage halls, in a "room b" plan, and we would be the only roommates. It was crazy, but hopefully it will be worth it.

*and p.s. im on a country kick due to the rodeo being in town.
